'You're So Good For Me' is out on CD and vinyl in the new year

Inspiral Carpets have announced the release of ‘You’re So Good For Me’, their first new single in 16 years.

Recorded last month in Manchester, the song is available now on iTunes and will be released on CD and limited edition vinyl on January 3, 2012.

As well as going into the studio to record more new songs, the band will also be heading out on the road for their first UK tour in four years in March 2012. Inspiral Carpets, made up of Clint Boon, Craig Gill, Stephen Holt, Graham Lambert, Martyn Walsh, will play eight shows. They will start off at Bristol Thekla on March 18 and finish up at Manchester HMV Ritz on March 24. Tickets go on sale November 25 at 9am.

Inspiral Carpets play:

Bristol Thekla (March 15)
London KOKO (16)
Holmfirth Picturedome (17)
Norwich Waterfront (18)
Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms (21)
Leamington Spa Assembly (22)
Glasgow O2 ABC (23)
Manchester HMV Ritz (24)

Recently, Clint Boon compared the band’s new material with The Vaccines, Kasabian, Interpol and fellow Manchester band Doves.

The keyboardist said the band started writing new songs after reuniting with original singer Stephen Holt. The move comes after singer Tom Hingley left the band over the summer.
