Interpol unveil video for new single ‘My Desire’

The band released fifth album 'El Pintor' in September

Interpol have shared a clip for their track ‘My Desire’.

The song featured on the New York band’s recent fifth album ‘El Pintor’, released on September 8. Its accompanying video sees the band performing in a dimly lit venue, while a man flicks through photos of his life at the bar. Watch it below.

Speaking to NME earlier this year, guitarist Daniel Kessler said that he felt a “new, natural energy” between the band while making the album. “We’re never lacking ideas or inspiration,” he said. “There’s always something new to be said, and if you don’t have something new to say, that’s when you should take a break. We got back together because we felt that some of these songs had a certain urgency. It feels new again.”

The band also told NME that they haven’t been in touch with their former bassist Carlos D since his departure in 2010. “What Carlos brought to the band became a huge part of the sound. You couldn’t take it away,” drummer Sam Fogarino said. “If I were 10 years younger, maybe I’d go and snoop around, check out what he’s up to, but no, I’m pretty in and out there nowadays.”

Interpol headlined this year’s NME Awards Tour, with Austin, Texas in March, alongside Temples, Royal Blood and Circa Waves.
