Rumoured to be bigger and better than ever…

APPLE look set to launch an enhanced IPOD with a colour screen and 50 per cent more storage.

A number of fan sites are speculating that a new 60GB device is about to be unveiled by the electronics giant, according to Reuters.

Apple have refused to comment on the reports which came after a key supplier announced plans to produce a larger portable hard drive.

The new iPod is expected to feature a two-inch colour screen which can display photos and is able to store 50 per cent more music.

Since their emergence in 2001, iPods have come to account for 50 per cent of the digital music player market.

In its most recent quarter, sales of the music player accounted for 12.4 per cent of Apple’s overall revenue.
