Bassist Marvin Isley passes away at a hospice in Chicago

Isley Brothers star Marvin Isley has died at a hospice in Chicago aged 56.

No cause of death was given for the bassist’s death after he passed away on Sunday (June 6), but he had suffered from diabetes for over 20 years and lost his legs because of the illness.

He stopped performing with the band in 1996 because of complications with the condition, reports BBC News.

The Isley Brothers‘ career has spanned six decades, producing popular hits such as ‘Shout’, ‘This Old Heart Of Mine’, ‘Fight the Power’, ‘Summer Breeze’ and ‘Who’s That Lady’. They won a Grammy in 1970 for their hit ‘It’s Your Thing’.

Marvin was the youngest member of the band. He is survived by his wife, a son and two daughters.
