Q-Tip makes guest appearance at Jack White’s sold-out Madison Square Garden show – watch

Zack de la Rocha also appears alongside opening act Run The Jewels

Jack White played to a sold-out Madison Square Garden in New York last night (January 30), and surprised the crowd by bringing out Q-Tip for the show’s encore.

The rapper appeared during White’s performance of ‘The Black Bat Licorice’, which was followed up by a rendition of A Tribe Called Quest’s ‘Excursions’. Click above to watch fan-recorded footage, via Rolling Stone.

In addition, Run The Jewels’ opening set was marked with a guest appearance from Zack de la Rocha. The Rage Against the Machine singer contributed vocals to ‘Close Your Eyes (And Count to Fuck)’ on the ‘Run The Jewels 2’ LP, and performed the track alongside the pair last night. See footage of the performance below.

At a Nashville gig earlier this week, White reunited with his former bandmates in The Raconteurs to play their 2006 single ‘Steady, As She Goes’. Later in the set, Loretta Lynn came on stage and sang ‘Portland, Oregon’, a song she recorded with White for the album ‘Van Lear Rose’. The pair also played ‘Whispering Sea’, the second song ever written by Lynn.
