Singer plays two tracks including White Stripes song
Jack White has performed a stripped-down set in a French chapel.
White recorded two tracks for the French website La Blogothèque at the Château de Fontainebleau’s Chapelle Saint-Saturnin near Paris. He played the track ‘Entitlement’ from his most recent solo LP ‘Lazaretto’, and The White Stripes song ‘The Same Boy You’ve Always Known’. Watch below.
Last month, it was announced that ‘Lazaretto’ had become the biggest-selling vinyl album for 20 years. The album was released in June and has gone on to sell more than 60,000 vinyl copies, making it the most successful since Pearl Jam’s ‘Vitalogy’, which was released in 1994.
Earlier today, a spokesperson for White denied that he had expressed interest in producing the next album by The Libertines. Pete Doherty had claimed he’d been told that White wanted to work with the band, but a representative for the ex-White Stripes man denied the story.
White goes on a brief UK tour in November. He will play:
Leeds First Direct Arena (November 17)
Glasgow SSE Hydro Arena (18)
London O2 (19)
