'Running' will be raising funds for the cause
James Bay has been chosen to be the sound of Sports Relief with single ‘Running’. The Brit award winner will be raising money for Sport Relief through the sales of the single.
‘Running’ is a deluxe track from the singer-songwriter’s debut album ‘Chaos and the Calm’ with Bay re-recording a special version especially for Sports Relief.
“There’s a universally positive message, which is Sport Relief’s ethos,” Bay told Digital Spy. “It’s about saying we can help, we can work together, and we can achieve something better.”
“This song might lean more on the traditional songwriting side of my music, as opposed to it being all about guitars. Because of that, it felt great.
“It didn’t feel odd for me, and I don’t want to set myself aside from rock music or pop music. I want to belong to both.”
James Bay’s new version of ‘Running’, recorded specially for Sport Relief, is available to download on iTunes now. At least 54p from every download will go to the fundraising appeal.
