‘Daughter’ goes to court for James Brown money

The woman is claiming a piece of his estate

A woman claiming to be the daughter of late soul legend James Brown is set to appear in court today in order to get a piece of his estate.

LaRhonda Petitt, 45, from Houston, TX has filed a paternity action to legally prove she is the daughter of the singer.

She had a DNA test to prove she is his daughter, and has requested that everyone named in the will as a child of Brown’s do the same thing.

“Just because they’re in the will doesn’t mean they’re all my daddy’s children,” she told the Associated Press.

The will names six children, but at least three other people are claiming that Brown is their father.

Petitt is seeking a part of the estate as a biological child of Brown, and a claim for back-dated child support.
