Tribes frontman Johnny Lloyd says he’s working with Jamie T

The singer's been on hiatus since 2009's 'Kings & Queens'

Tribes frontman Johnny Lloyd has said he’s working with Jamie T on new material.

Aside from last year’s joint single ‘Wrongful Suspicion’ with Tim Armstrong of US punk band, Rancid, Jamie T has been on hiatus since 2009.

“I’m playing with Jamie T at the moment,” Lloyd told Topman. “He’s finishing his new album. I occasionally guest on stuff, but I want to be in control. Jamie’s record is great, it’s really slow, angry punk. He’s a classic character. I know if I walked down Denmark Street now he’d be in the pub.”

The last release from Jamie T came out almost four years ago – the single ‘Emily’s Heart’, which was backed with a cover of Bruce Springsteen‘s ‘Atlantic City’. The song was taken from his second album, ‘Kings & Queens’, which was released in 2009.

Jamie T was named Best Solo Artist at the NME Awards in both 2007 and 2010. He released his debut album, ‘Panic Prevention’, in 2007.
