Jamie T praises fans for sticking by him during laryngitis bout – video

'Kings & Queens' man also promises a busy 2010

Jamie T has thanked his fans for continuing to support him despite it being three years since he won Best Solo Artist for the first time at the 2007 Shockwaves NME Awards.

The Londoner did not rush his second album ‘Kings & Queens’ and was pleased that fans had responded to the 2009 record, even after he was forced to postpone a tour after coming down with laryngitis, by giving him the accolade at last night’s (February 24) Shockwaves NME Awards.

“It was pretty interesting. We spent a lot of time off,” he told NME.COM. “But the fans are still there and we really respect that. That’s the one thing we can grab from this award – the fans voted for it. We spend a lot of time taking our time about things, and the fans are still there.”

Jamie T added that he’s gearing up for a “really busy 2010”, and promised that he’ll be doing “stuff that’s behind the scenes” in the near future too.
