THE MOB FATHERS!

The band follow their Halloween spectacular in London with a show outside the venue...

Jane’s Addiction treated clued-up fans to a surprise ‘flashmob’ gig last week.

Following their Halloween spectacular at London’s Brixton Academy (October 31), fans who signed up to their ‘flashmob’ text service received a message just before the band went onstage saying ‘Mob Street Karaoke, 0045am meet after Jane’s performance in front of Brixton Academy’.

True to his word, singer Perry Farrell appeared front of house wearing a jester hat and led the crowd through a singalong of Jane’s Addiction hits. As previously reported, Farrell has taken an interest in the spontaneous ‘flashmob’ happenings since they started cropping up last year.

The Halloween gig itself saw the band triumph in a venue specially dressed in red velvet, with mobs parading through the venue in the band’s ‘riot chic’ attire while gangs of ‘Lollagirls’ performed impromptu dances.

Farrell, in special Halloween costume, led the band through a barrage of hits including ‘Been Caught Stealing’, ‘Three Days’ and ‘Ocean Size’ as well as an acoustic version of recent single ‘Just Because’. Support came from Cooper Temple Clause, The Star Spangles and Stellarstarr*.
