JAY-Z CONTINUES TO BUILD ‘DYNASTY’

What next? World domination? There's a President's job going at the moment...

JAY-Z, not content with ownership of ROC-A-FELLA RECORDS, a second US number one album of the year and even the recent launch of ROC-A-FELLA childrenswear, has announced he is to launch a second label, CARTER FACULTY.

His cousin, Bryant Biggs, and close friend Tyran Smith, who also manages Memphis Bleek, will head up the new venture. Def Jam have been mooted as a name to distribute the label’s releases.

The first Carter Faculty release will be a debut for Da Ranjahz who also featured on ‘DJ Clue Presents Backstage: A Hard Knock Life’.

Aside from Jay-Z himself, the Roc-A-Fella stable currently boasts names such as Beenie Segal, Memphis Bleek and Amil.

While Jay-Z’s fourth album ‘The Dynasty’ remains at the top of the US chart, his single ‘I Just Wanna Love U’, featuring production by The Neptunes and vocal back up from Pharrell Williams, will be released in the UK on December 4.

Pharrell Williams, The Neptunes mainman, is subject of an exclusive three-part NME.COM video exclusive filmed in his New York studio recently and set for broadcast within the next couple of weeks.
