Jay Z includes Beyonce, Drake and Nicki Minaj on first Tidal playlist

Nineteen -song playlist also includes songs by new artists including Lion Babe

Jay-Z has shared a summer playlist on Tidal, including songs by Nicki Minaj, Drake, A$AP Rocky and Beyonce among a host of new artists.

The 19 track playlist is titled ‘Fuck The Summer Up’ and begins with Leikeli47’s song of the same name. The little known masked rapper from New York is one of a number of newcomers on the playlist, perhaps a concession to criticisms that Tidal is designed only to help already successful artists.

Tidal has found itself as a target of criticism since its initial launch, with the likes of Mumford & Sons, Steve Albini, Lily Allen and Ben Gibbard sharing their views on the service. Their criticisms included suggestions that its model will only favour mainstream acts, and that it’s little more than a vanity project for Jay Z and his fellow stars.

Meanwhile, Noel Gallagher recently entered the debate, accusing the Tidal founders of mistaking themselves for the Avengers.
