Vaults have covered 'One Day I'll Fly Away' by Randy Crawford

The John Lewis Christmas advert and song for 2016 has been unveiled. Check it out below.

Despite a David Bowie cover being tipped as a favourite, it was revealed earlier this week that the accompanying track would be Vaults covering ‘One Day I’ll Fly Away’ by Randy Crawford. The ad and track have become somewhat of a festive institution in the UK, with the likes of Lily Allen providing the soundtrack in the past. Last year saw Norwegian rising star Aurora cover Oasis’ ‘Half The World Away’ – before Liam Gallagher slammed brother Noel as ‘a sell out’ for allowing the track to be used.

The synopsis of the advert itself reads: “This is the story of a little girl called Bridget who loves to bounce. When her mum and dad buy her a trampoline for Christmas, they soon discover that she isn’t the only one with a passion for jumping.”

South London electronica outfit Vaults comprise of Blythe Pepino, Barney Freeman and Ben Vella. They formed in 2013.

The band’s song ‘One Last Night’ featured on the Fifty Shades Of Grey film soundtrack, while their debut album is expected in February 2017.
