Watch Johnny Marr bring new song ‘Bug’ to ‘Conan’

The track is taken from his upcoming new solo album 'Call The Comet', which is out next week

Johnny Marr previewed his forthcoming new album by performing the song ‘Bug’ on US TV last night (June 4) – check out the performance below.

The former Smiths guitarist will release his third solo album ‘Call The Comet’ on June 15, which has been promoted by the recent release of two singles: ‘The Tracers’ and ‘Hi Hello’.

Marr continued on the promo trail for ‘Call The Comet’ by calling into Conan O’Brien’s talk show in the US last night, with the artist performing ‘Bug’ from the new album. You can watch the full Conan performance below.

Marr has previously described the new album as it being an expression of his “magic realism”.

“It’s set in the not-too-distant future and is mostly concerned with the idea of an alternative society,” he said. “The characters in the songs are searching for a new idealism, although there are some personal songs in there too. It’s something that people like me can relate to.”

Marr will promote the new record with a small set of shows this month, with those gigs set to be followed by a UK and Ireland tour proper in November. Check out those live dates below, which you can find tickets for here.
