Dance duo reveal they turned down chance to rework Johnny Cash track

Justice have admitted that their remixes can only make “good” songs “worse”.

The French dance duo have released reworkings of tracks by the likes of Britney Spears, Daft Punk and N.E.R.D in recent years, but revealed that they turned down the chance to remix Johnny Cash.

Speaking to Digital Spy, band member Gaspard Auge said that the band have been inundated with requests from artists wanting remixes of their tracks.

He explained:

It’s just crazy how people in the music industry are dying for us to do remixes. We were asked to do a Johnny Cash remix but it doesn’t make any sense. When the song is already good, we can only make it worse.

Auge added that the band are already thinking about their third album after releasing their second studio LP, ‘Audio, Video, Disco’, earlier this week (October 24).

“We already have a few ideas for the next album,” he said.

Earlier this month, Justice told NME that their lack of interest in current pop artists was seeing them cut down the number of remixes they were carrying out.
