Pop singer's week from hell continues
Justin Bieber collapsed backstage at the O2 Arena last night (March 8).
The singer interrupted his performance – his third in a week at the London venue – when he felt woozy on stage. A representative for the singer told The Hollywood Reporter that the singer then took a 20-minute break backstage to receive oxygen. Meanwhile, Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun addressed the crowd at front of house, telling them, “Justin’s got very light breath. The whole show he’s been complaining. He’s backstage with the EMTs and the doctor.” Bieber returned to complete his set after the break, and headed to hospital afterwards.
The episode is the latest event in a troubling week for the teen star – he tweeted about having his “worst birthday” on Saturday, he appeared on stage nearly two hours late at Monday night’s O2 show, reportedly receiving a £300,000 fine for breaking the venue’s curfew, and he has since been pictured out on the town wearing a gas mask.
While Bieber initially apologised for Monday’s late showing, he has since stated that the media has not reported the full facts of what had happened on the night and treated him badly during his stay in the UK. Writing 12 messages on the subject on his Twitter feed, he put: “Rumors rumors and more rumors. Nothing more nothing less. Might talk about them one day. Right now I’m just gonna be positive. Can’t bring me down.” The messages continued, with Bieber claiming people wrote “fake stories” on him in order to sell papers.
Justin Bieber is set to conclude his run of four shows at the O2 Arena tonight (March 8).
