Timberlake names fans who could perform with him

Justin Timberlake has named the five finalists who will compete for the chance to perform with him at the Grammy Awards.

As previously reported, aspiring singers were invited on submit a 60-second video of themselves singing on of nine Grammy winning songs a cappella. The videos appeared on Yahoo Music and CBS.com, where voters selected their favourites.

Neil Portnow, the Recording Academy President, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response we have received for our My Grammy Moment opportunity, and the top five finalists reflect a diverse group of extremely talented singers.”

The finalists are Alice Miranda of Alabama, Jillian Gaudious of New Jersey, Brenda Radney of New York, Robyn Troup of Texas and Jessica James of Georgia.

People can continue voting and the three finalists are set to be announced on February 3-4, where they will head to Los Angeles to rehearse with Timberlake.

The 49th Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles on February 11. The winner will be announced live on the show before Timberlake’s performance, reports Yahoo.
