The rapper will appear on the long-running US TV show on February 13
Kanye West has been confirmed to perform on Saturday Night Live.
It was rumoured that the rapper would appear on the long-running US TV show on February 13, but The Fader have now confirmed his appearance via a representative of the show.
West’s return to the programme will come two days after he is due to release his next album ‘Waves’. He will also host live event in New York next month, with UK cinema chain Vue amongst those signed up to show the gig live. The rapper will perform at New York’s Madison Square Garden on February 11. The show will be live-streamed at cinemas around the world.
It won’t be the first time West has appeared on SNL, having performed on the show many times including for its 40th anniversary in February last year. During that appearance, he played ‘Jesus Walks’, ‘Only One’ and unveiled his Sia and Vic Mensa collaboration ‘Wolves’. Watch footage from that performance below.
West’s seventh album was initially titled ‘So Help Me God’, before West later changed it to ‘Swish’. Last week, he tweeted: “New album title, ‘Waves’. The album formally known as ‘Swish’.” He also said the record was “not album of the year. This is album of the life.”
