Kanye West appears to offer an olive branch to Taylor Swift

Rapper tweets a picture which could be seen as a conciliatory gesture

Kanye West‘s latest tweet could be interpreted as an olive branch to Taylor Swift.

Last night (August 29) the rapper shared a picture on Twitter which merges the cover of his ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ album with the cover of Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ album. His caption simply says: “unity love”.

West took to the stage to introduce his new video for ‘Fade’ at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Sunday night (August 28), but Swift did not attend the event this year because she was due at a jury selection meeting for a criminal case in Tennessee on Monday morning. The VMAs was famously the scene of the pair’s first falling out in 2009, when West stormed the stage to protest as Swift was accepting an award the rapper felt should have been won by Beyoncé.

West and Swift’s on-off beef reignited in July when the rapper’s wife, Kim Kardashian West, leaked a phone call showing Swift seemingly enthusing over the first part of a controversial couplet from West’s track ‘Famous’, while not being informed about the second part.

Swift had previously claimed to have been unaware of the song’s lyrics prior to its release. The track’s controversial couplet sees West rap: “I feel like me and Taylor Swift might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous.”
