Kanye West says a beef between Tidal and Apple Music is ‘fucking up the music game’

Rapper also says he and Jay Z need to have a meeting with Apple's CEO Tim Cook

Kanye West has claimed that a “beef” between rival streaming services Tidal and Apple Music is “fucking up the music game”.

During a series of tweets earlier today (July 30), the rapper called for some kind of meeting involving him, Tidal’s primary owner Jay Z, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook and Apple Music associates Drake and Jimmy Iovine, among others.

“Fuck all this dick swinging contest. We all gon be dead in 100 Years. Let the kids have the music,” he urged.

He also appeared to suggest that Apple’s Tim Cook, who he compared unfavourably to his predecessor as CEO, Steve Jobs, should offer to buy Tidal from Jay Z. “Apple give Jay his check for Tidal now and stop trying to act like you Steve,” he wrote.

West did not mention other streaming services such as Spotify and Deezer in his tweets. Yesterday the rapper released a new video for his track ‘Wolves’, in which he and his wife Kim Kardashian West are both seen crying. The video, which, like the track, features Sia and Vic Mensa, also stars a host of models such as Jourdan Dunn.

Earlier this week, West discussed his wife’s penchant for taking nude selfies, saying that her not showing off her body would be like Adele failing to utilise her vocal talents.
