Rapper recently declared that he will run for office in 2020
Former US President George W Bush has responded to Kanye West‘s recent proclamation that he will run for Presidency in 2020, with Bush simply replying with a derisive laugh.
West announced that he will run for office in the 2020 US election at the MTV VMAs in August, since reiterating his aims.
TMZ recently asked George W Bush what he thought of West’s chances, with Bush laughing off the question. Watch in the video below.
In 2005, West famously accused Bush of “not caring about black people” on live TV following Hurricane Katrina.
West spoke about his radical ideas for electoral reform in a recent Vanity Fair interview.
“When I run for president, I’d prefer not to run against someone,” he said. “I would be like ‘I want to work with you.’I think all the people running right now have something that each of the others needs. But the idea of this separation and this gladiator battle takes away from the main focus that the world needs help and the world needs all the people in a position of power or influence to come together.”
In a recent interview with NME, Rihanna revealed that she is waiting for West to be free so she can finish recording her new album with him. Similarly, Justin Bieber has said that he too is working with West on new music that boasts a “New York vibe.”
