Teenager covers entire Kanye West discography in six-hour video – watch

Jacob Brody accompanied West's discography in chronological order

A Chicago teenager has recorded a near seven-hour cover version of Kanye West‘s discography on the guitar.

Jacob Brody accompanied all of West’s music in chronological order, beginning with ‘We Don’t Care’ from ‘The College Dropout’ and ending with ‘Bound 2’, the final track on West’s most recent album, 2013’s ‘Yeezus’.

As reported by Reverb HQ, where Brody interned, he commented, “I learned most of these songs by ear and decided to record my interpretations. The camera only let me record 15-25 minutes, so each 15-25 minute take was done in one attempt. There are mistakes… I know. I switch guitars because some songs are in different tunings. Some songs change keys mid-song.” He also emphasised that he does not claim ownership of the songs and that the recording is meant as a tribute.

The total runtime of the feat is six hours and forty-one minutes. Watch it below:

Kanye West recently hit headlines when he announced his intention to run for President of the United States of America in 2020. Hillary Clinton responded to the announcement last week, asking the rapper to “wait” if she happens to be running for re-election at the time.

He launched his alleged bid to be President during his acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards last month (August 30). West said at the time, “It’s not about me. It’s about ideas. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth. And yes, as you probably could’ve guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for President.”

Clinton, who is the favourite to become the Democratic candidate at the 2016 election, told Ellen DeGeneres on US TV on Tuesday (September 8), “I heard him make the announcement. He said he wanted to run in 2020, I would only ask him, if I’m running for re-election, to wait. But otherwise, a lot of people want to run for president these days.”

Clinton’s comments follow that of her daughter Chelsea describing the prospect of West running for office as “awesome”. Chelsea said, “Even if [West] just saying that helps spark a little boy or a little girl who was watching the VMAs to think, ‘Oh wow, maybe I should do that,’ that’s awesome.”

Earlier this year, West’s wife Kim Kardashian uploaded a picture of her and Kanye meeting Clinton. See that below.
