Roc Nation have confirmed that a poster for Kanye West‘s Yeezus film posted online yesterday (May 1) is not real.
The image, which is pictured above, was posted on Instagram yesterday by Milk Studios creative director Mazdack Rassi. The movie poster appeared to confirm that the film would be co-produced by Milk and West’s design company DONDA, and that it would be scripted by American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis.
However, Pitchfork have now claimed that a representative for Roc Nation confirmed that the image is not the real poster for West’s Yeezus film.
Details of a Yeezus movie were first announced in February of this year. It will be directed by Hype Williams – who has previously helmed videos for the likes of Beyoncé and Coldplay in addition to his collaborations with West – and will be “coming to theatres”, although no firm release details have been revealed.
Easton Ellis previously confirmed he had written a script for the film, meanwhile, revealing: “He came and asked me to write the film. I didn’t want to at first. Then I listened to ‘Yeezus’. It was early summer last year and I was driving in my car.”
He added: “He’d given me an advance copy and I thought, regardless of whether I’m right for this project, I want to work with whoever made this. So fuck it, I said yes. And that’s how it happened. That was seven or eight months ago. We’ll see what happens.”
