Rapper's brag comes in a teaser clip for his upcoming in-depth interview with BBC Radio 1

Kanye West has declared himself the “number one rock star on the planet” in a new interview clip. Watch it above.

The clip is a teaser for the first instalment in BBC Radio 1’s in-depth, four-part interview with the rapper, which will go out at 7pm nightly from Monday to Thursday next week (September 23-26).

“People are gonna look at this interview and say ‘Hey, I understand what he’s talking about’. People are gonna look at this interview and say ‘I don’t like Kanye, he looks mad, I don’t like his teeth’,”, West says in the teaser clip. “We the real rock stars and I’m the biggest of all of them. I’m the Number One rock star on the planet.”

The interview, which was conducted by presenter Zane Lowe, took place when the rapper visited the UK earlier this week. It is only the second interview of West’s ‘Yeezus’ album cycle – the first of which was carried out by wife Kim Kardashian’s mother Kris Jenner.

During his brief visit, Kanye West also made an appearance on Later… With Jools Holland, where he performed ‘Bound 2’, ‘New Slaves and ‘Blood On The Leaves’ alongside other performances from Kings Of Leon, Drenge, Sting and newcomer Lorde.

Kanye West also recently announced plans for a US tour, with support to come from Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar. Tweeting his announcement in the form of a poster, the artwork read “Kanye West’s 1st solo tour in five years with Kendrick Lamar”. No dates have been confirmed as yet for the American jaunt.
