Will Smith confirms he’s working with Kanye West

Actor says he's been "messing around" in the studio with Yeezy

Will Smith has confirmed that he’s been in the studio with Kanye West.

The pair were photographed together in a studio in Brazil back in February, and now Will Smith has revealed that they have actually been working on music together. “I’ve been messing around with Kanye, we went to the studio a couple times,” Smith told Hip Hollywood. “I might get the bug. I’m not gonna do it unless I’m truly inspired, but Ye’s been pushing me a little bit.”

Over the weekend (May 19), Kanye West’s girlfriend Kim Kardashian (May 19) posted an image on Instagram of a CD along with the hashtag #Yeezus, which suggests this could be the sleeve for West’s forthcoming sixth solo LP, which is reportedly set for release on June 18. A spokesperson for Kanye West told NME that all details are yet to be confirmed.

Over the weekend, Kanye West performed two tracks on Saturday Night Live which will presumably feature on the album, titled ‘New Slaves’ and ‘Black Skinhead’. Scroll down to listen to both tracks. On Friday night (May 17), West premiered ‘New Slaves’ by projecting the video on buildings across the world. The promo was screened in 10 cities including Sydney, London, Paris, Berlin and numerous locations in North America. The rapper previously played a brand new song called ‘I Am A God’ at the Met Gala in New York on May 6.

Odd Future, Daft Punk and Skrillex are both rumoured to feature on the album alongside MC Chief Keef and John Legend.
