Kanye West is set to face former Death Row Records boss Suge Knight in court in Miami in December over a nightclub shooting that took place in 2005.
Knight is suing West for around $1 million (£660,000) in damages after being shot in the leg at a Shore Club party hosted by West in the city that year.
He is claiming security at the party was inadequate – a charge West and the club’s owners have denied, reports BBC News.
A court date of December 6 has been set by US District Judge Patricia Seitz for the trial.
Marc Brumer, lawyer for Knight, said that medical bills for his cluent following the shooting totaled $200,000 (£132,000). He is also claiming for a $135,000 (£89,000) earring he said he lost in the incident.
“How someone came with a gun into a very VIP party, that just doesn’t meet the smell test in life,” Brumer said.
