Kanye West to play Manchester International Festival

Rapper joins Damon Albarn and Lou Reed

Kanye West has been confirmed to join the line-up for Manchester International Festival.

As previously reported, the event is due to take place from June 28-July 15. The hip-hop star will play the Manchester Carling Apollo on July 2.

The news follows on from the announcement that Damon Albarn will open the event with his opera ’Monkey: Journey To The West’.

The festival will also feature performances by Lou Reed, Smokey Robinson and Happy Mondays at various venues around Manchester.
