Karen O has shared the video for her solo song ‘Day Go By’.

Speaking about the video to Vogue, O commented: “I wrote this song when I was living in Los Angeles and my boyfriend was stuck freezing in New York. I really needed my fix of being with him but was miles away. Wiissa brings summer loving to everyone who’s braving a cold winter’s day.”

The track features on O’s debut solo album ‘Crush Songs’, which was released in September of last year on Julian Casablancas’ Cult Records label. Cult Records will release a special Valentine’s Day vinyl seven-inch of ‘Rapt’ from the record on February 10, on limited etched pink vinyl. The B-side will be a remix of ‘Rapt’ by TRZTN.

Speaking to NME recently, Karen O revealed that her band Yeah Yeah Yeahs currently have no plans of working on new material and are “on a bit of a hiatus”. She explained that the group are waiting to feel inspired before starting anything new together. “We’re on a bit of hiatus at the moment, so nothing yet. We have to wait to get the urge, get that itch. The time needs to be right and we’re OK waiting for that, I think,” she said, adding that when the band do get back together “it’ll be like muscle memory, this unspoken thing between the three of us where it all just… locks in.”

O also spoke about her nervousness when it came to releasing solo material for the first time and why it took seven years for ‘Crush Songs’ to go from being written to being made public. “Even when the whole thing was a done deal, like two weeks before the record came out, I was having second thoughts, like, ‘No! What am I doing?! Is it too late to put the brakes on?!’ It’s a big thing to bare yourself to the world on your own […] It just took a while to commit to the idea of sharing something so personal,” she said.
