Suede, Kaiser Chiefs and TV On The Radio also play Spanish bash
Kasabian won over 35,000 festival goers at the second day of Bilbao BBK Live last night (July 8).
Their set, which drew the most excitable crowd of the night, featured a mix of classic singles and tracks from the forthcoming album ‘Velociraptor!’.
Speaking to the crowd at sunset on the second stage, singer Tom Meighan announced: “You look beautiful Bilbao. The moon’s out, Kasabian are playing, this one’s called ‘Shoot The Runner’“.
New tracks played from their forthcoming new LP ‘Velociraptor!’ included the title track and ‘Switchblade Smiles’.
As previously reported, the imminent album is already riding high in the pre-release chart following the band’s show at the Isle Of Wight Festival.
Meighan dedicated ‘Velociraptor!’ to “our Leicester“, referring to the local lads that follow the band on tour.
Kasabian‘s set ended with ‘Fire’, which included a “fooking reprise” that saw Meighan lead the band into an extended outro.
‘Where Did All The Love Go?’
‘Shoot The Runner’
‘L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever)’
Elsewhere on the bill and Suede played a hit-packed set, with Brett Anderson drenched in sweat by a few songs in.
The singer had previously been spotted clambering over a rock formation to watch Kasabian. He wasn’t the only musician attempting mountaineering; The Noisettes’ Shingai Shoniwa also scaled the rocks to watch TV On The Radio‘s set. Kaiser Chiefs and !!! were other highlights.
