Kasabian perform live at Shockwaves NME Awards with Noel Fielding

Mighty Boosh man joins band for 'Vlad The Impaler'

Kasabian performed ‘Vlad The Impaler’ live at the Shockwaves NME Awards ceremony this evening (February 24), joined by The Mighty Boosh‘s Noel Fielding.

The comedian reprised his role as the Vlad of the title, a role he first assumed for the music video for the song, released last year.

Fielding appeared onstage before the rest of the band, who were playing with a replacement drummer after original sticksman Ian Matthews injured his hand.

Fielding swigged fans beer during the performance, and at one point climbed on the top of the staircase to the side of the stage. Finally, he ended the band’s performance by fighting his way through the bands sat at the venue’s tables and making his way to the back of the room.

Kasabian are nominated for awards including Best British Band, Best Album (for ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’) and Best Live Band.
