The official T-shirts for the band's headline performance listed the wrong date

Kasabian have spoken to NME about their official Glastonbury T-shirts, which were printed with the wrong date of the show.

Instead of saying that the band played on June 29, the T-shirts actually said the band headlined the festival on June 28 – the night that Metallica headed up the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm.

When asked by NME if the band would now be spending their Glastonbury fee on a calendar, Tom Meighan commented: “I don’t know, mate, you’d have to ask our retail management. At least we turned up on the right day, that’s the main thing.”

Speaking to NME ahead of their set on the Pyramid Stge in the new issue which is on newsstands from today (July 2) or available digitally, Meighan said: “The day’s been looming over me for a long time now so it’s good it’s finally here. Like a boxer, it’s time to take it to the ring. There’s only one thing to do – knock ’em out”.

Kasabian brought Glastonbury 2014 to a close with a set which featured a cover of Gnarls Barkley’s ‘Crazy’ and a guest appearance from comedian Noel Fielding posing as Vlad The Impaler. It came after the band scored a UK Number One album with ’48:13′ and played a hometown show in front of 50,000 fans at Leicester’s Victoria Park earlier this month.
