Jagwar Ma, Rudimental and more will warm up the crowd on Saturday (June 21)

Kasabian have announced the support bill for their homecoming show in Leicester this weekend (June 21).

The band will be joined by Australian psych-pop group Jagwar Ma, BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe and Beardy Man at the mammoth hometown show. Chart-topping dance act Rudimental will also DJ on the day.

The sold-out, 35,000-capacity gig will mark ten years since the group released their self-titled debut album. Speaking to the Leicester Mercury when the show was announced last year, guitarist Serge Pizzorno said: “It feels like it was just meant to be. It’s going to be the 10-year anniversary of the first album, so it feels right. It feels like we’ve been building up to this since the start. We’re so excited. Hopefully the whole city will come alive.”

The Leicester band’s latest album ’48:13′ entered the Official Album Chart at Number One last weekend (June 15), giving the group the fourth Number One album of their careers. Of the achievement, Pizzorno said: “What a way to kick off the biggest three weeks of our lives: achieving our fourth consecutive Number One album, followed by a 35,000-strong crowd at our Leicester homecoming gig and the pinnacle – headlining Glastonbury!” Kasabian will headline the Pyramid Stage on the Sunday night at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
