Pizzorno said: “It’s always been like… we just need to do that and I can die a happy man. I feel like it’s a huge boxed ticked. We’ve had so many amazing nights there.”
Speaking about the band’s plans for the festival, Pizzorno said: “Ultimately you just want people to have a great night. I want people to go away thinking, ‘I enjoyed that, that was massive.'”
In total, 87 names added to the Glastonbury line-up today (April 4). Check out the full list here.
Kasabian will release their as-yet-untitled new album this year. Serge Pizzorno and frontman Tom Meighan told NME that it’s an answer to anyone who has doubted them in the past. “The album is a real ‘fuck you’ to anyone who ever dares criticise or snarl at us, and say we can’t do music like this,” Meighan said. “It’s a real fucking ‘up yours’. There are a lot of bands who try and do this kind of music but fail because they’ve got no songs.”
