Duo plan to record a Shangri-Las song

Kate Nash has revealed that she plans to record a cover version of The Shangri-Las‘Give Him A Great Big Kiss’ with Billy Bragg.

The London artist explained that the duo plan to head to a studio soon to record the song, then organise a low-key release for the resulting single.

“We’ll record the cover in a small studio,” Nash told the Daily Star‘s Playlist. “Just record it quite casually so people can have it. Not a big release or anything – just release it on a white label.

“I don’t really want to make a big deal out of it,” she continued. “I think that makes it kind of cheesy. At the end of the day it is just two people working together and it would be nice to do something low-key”.

The two have been regularly collaborating onstage, most prominently at the Shockwaves NME Awards last month (February 28).
