Band hit back at suggestions global event lacks credibility
Keane have hit back at suggestions that the forthcoming Live Earth concerts lack credibility.
But Keane drummer Richard Hughes defended the global event and argued that Gore‘s campaign is working.
“Live Earth is getting a bit of flak like all good events like this tend to,” he told NME.COM. “But you go to the middle of America and people are talking about it and hearing about it so it seems to be really doing the job that Al Gore wanted. We’re really excited to be part of it because its a very big show.”
The trio are also set to make an appearance at the new 02 Arena next month as part of a series of gigs which was recently kicked off by Bon Jovi, involving the likes of The Rolling Stones, Justin Timberlake and Prince
Hughes added: “We’re looking forward to playing the 02 Arena because a lot of good bands are starting to play there and its turning out to be a good venue. Even Bon Jovi have played there!”
