Trio put in a surprise tribute to the headliners that never were
The three-piece put in an unusually low-key show at the Avalon Stage out in the festival’s Green Fields.
And in a show of respect for U2, this year’s headliners that never were, Tom Chaplin led the band through a rapturously-received cover of the Irish band’s classic ‘With Or Without You’.
It followed last night’s tribute from Muse, in which The Edge joined the headliners for a version of ‘Where The Streets Have No Name’.
Elsewhere, Keane ran through their catalogue of hits, including ‘Everybody’s Changing’, ‘Spiralling’, ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ and ‘Is It Any Wonder?’ before climaxing with ‘Bedshaped’.
