Kesha wrote letters to fans detailing alleged abuse by Dr Luke

The letters were written during the singer's rehab stay earlier in 2014

Kesha appears to refer to the the abuse she alleges suffered at the hands of producer and mentor Dr Luke in letters written to fans earlier this year.

The singer recently filed a lawsuit against Dr Luke for “mental manipulation, emotional abuse and sexual assault”, and in these letters – reportedly sent during a rehab stint earlier this year – she opens up about the ordeal.

“Dr. Luke has tortured me & my family… he did do what people know about + SO much more terrible shit,” she wrote in one letter.

She added: “Someone I work with has literally driven me into this disease, tortured me and fucked with me and my family.”

Five letters have been obtained by Buzzfeed News, who claim to have “confirmed the authenticity of three of them”.

“I wasn’t even expecting a reply or anything,” said 16-year-old fan Kelly Mullin from Virginia. “I just wanted to show her how much we loved her and about two weeks later I got a letter back.”

Kesha’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, recently said of the abuse case: “The facts presented in our lawsuit paint a picture of a man who is controlling and willing to commit horrible acts of abuse in an attempt to intimidate an impressionable, talented, young female artist into submission for his personal gain. Kesha is focused on moving her life and her career beyond this terrible time.”

Kesha left a rehab facility in Chicago earlier in 2014 after receiving treatment for an eating disorder. At the time, she accused Dr Luke of perpetuating her illness.

Meanwhile, Dr Luke has rejected claims of abuse, calling the allegations “nothing more than a continuation of her bad and offensive acts.”
