Singer moving to the US to get scribbling
Bloc Party‘s Kele Okereke has revealed that he is writing a book.
The band frontman-turned-solo-artist told NME that he was preparing to move to New York to finish off the project – but did not reveal what kind of book he was writing.
“I’m moving to Manhattan in the next couple of weeks,” he said. “I’m writing a book and I want to go somewhere and finish it.”
He added: “We [Bloc Party] had a meeting before Christmas, but I’m just focused on the book at the moment. I’m not thinking about anything like that right now.”
The project won’t be the singer’s first forage into literature. Last year he contributed a short story to online literary journal Five Dials after saying he was working on an “erotic memoir detailing my experiences with groupies over the last five years.”
Bloc Party have been on hiatus since 2009, while Kele released his first solo album, ‘The Boxer’, last year.
