Kendrick Lamar has partnered with health food company Sweetgreen for a new salad called ‘Beets Don’t Kale My Vibe’.
The dish will be sold at the US salad chain’s stores throughout May ahead of the rapper’s performance at their Sweetlife Festival, which takes place in Maryland from May 30-31.
The salad contains beetroot and kale, with its name a pun on the title of Lamar’s track ‘Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe’. Sweetgreen have been selling t-shirts featuring the phrase since 2013.

Earlier this week, Kendrick Lamar threw the ceremonial first pitch at the LA Dodgers baseball game against San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers are the Compton rapper’s local team, with footage of Lamar’s effort from Monday night (April 27) now airing online. Lamar followed on from fellow rapper 50 Cent, whose wayward pitch at the game between the New York Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates went viral in 2014.
Lamar recently released his album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’. Read the NME review. Writer Alex Denney wrote of the LP: “In laying his demons and his contradictions bare, he has stayed true to his formidable talent.”
