The musician went hunting with rocker Ted Nugent
Kid Rock has caused controversy by apparently killing a mountain lion.
The musician – real name Robert James Ritchie – allegedly killed the animal while hunting with rocker and National Rifle Association board member Ted Nugent. Nugent then posted a picture of Ritchie with the kill on his Facebook page earlier this month alongside the caption: “I can hear the braindead squawkers already with their obscene denial that killing lions is wrong. It’s legal, it’s necessary, it’s good, it’s beneficial, it’s a damn riot!”
The picture led to a host of commenters laying into Ritchie for the ‘trophy kill’, reports Billboard. The picture comes after Kid Rock made comments earlier this month, saying he thinks “everything” should be legalised and taxed.
He spoke to The Guardian about a variety of subjects, including his views on drug policy. Ritchie admitted to not smoking weed very often as it “makes me dumb” but went on to explain that he thinks “they should legalise and tax everything: pot, cocaine, heroin”. “Has it not been proven that people will always find a way to get what they want?” he reasoned.
He also discussed technology, explaining that he doesn’t “FaceTweet or whatever people do”. “I turn on my computer and look at porn a little bit, see what’s going on in the news, but that’s about it,” he said.
