It will contain a 'massive prog opus', apparently
Klaxons have revealed more about the direction of their second album, explaining that they plan to make a more extreme record.
The band singled out a new song that has strong prog influences as a guide to one possible direction the album may go in.
Guitarist Simon Taylor said: “We wanna make something that’s bigger and softer and louder and lo-fi and heavier produced – just lots of contradictions. I think it’s gonna be like the last record but swollen.”
Taylor also told XFM what has been influencing the band in recent months, saying: “We’ve been listening to a lot of European prog music and dubstep and dance and folk. A huge broad variety of things really. There’s one track we’ve been playing in soundcheck, it’s this massive prog opus.”
The guitarist also confirmed once again that he and CSS frontwoman Lovefoxxx would be getting married in the near future.
He said: “It’s true we’re getting married soon but I can’t say much more than that. My mum keeps reading all this stuff about it, it’s completely crazy.”
Klaxons are due to play the following UK gigs:
Newcastle Academy (November 28)
Southampton Guildhall (30)
Leeds University (December 1)
Cardiff University (2)
Birmingham Academy (4)
London Brixton Academy (5, 6)
