Crocked Klaxon ankle forces gig cancellation

One of the band is flown back to the UK for treatment

Klaxons have been forced to cancel a French festival appearance after band member Jamie Reynolds broke his leg in two places.

Reynolds sustained the injury leaping from the stage at a gig in Angouleme on Saturday (July 21).

The band were scheduled to perform at the Festival Les Vieilles Charrues in Brittany, but under French doctors’ advice Reynolds flew back to the UK to have his injury treated instead, forcing the show to be scrapped.

Reynolds underwent surgery last night (July 23). The band issued a statement for French fans explaining they were “gutted that they are missing the show and will see you all France in November”, when the band will embark on a European tour.

The injury has forced Reynolds to cancel two scheduled DJ slots -at Stratford’s Global Gathering event and a planned slot at London’s Turnmills venue.

Both sets were scheduled for Saturday (July 28).
