Korn reunite with guitarist ‘Head’ on new album ‘The Paradigm Shift’

US rock band will release their 11th album in September

Korn will release their new album ‘The Paradigm Shift’ on September 30.

The US rock band’s 11th studio album will see Brian ‘Head’ Welch playing with Korn for the first time since 2003 album ‘Take a Look in the Mirror’.

Speaking about the making of the new album, frontman Jonathan Davis has revealed how trauma in his personal life delayed his work on lyrics and vocals. “Writing the record was really weird. They started writing, I think, in August, and I didn’t get into the studio until March, because I was going through all kinds of crazy shit. My boy got diabetes and I had come off medication for my depression, and that fucked me up,” he tells Rolling Stone. “I was in a straight haze. I detoxed off that medication – it was an anti-depressant, the anxiety and stuff. I’d been on it for three years and the doctor told me you gotta get off this, it’s bad for you.”

Meanwhile, guitarist Welch has said he is a changed man since quitting drugs. “It’s no secret I was into the drugs, so crazy stuff, like having to finish our blow right before we got to the border because they were gonna come check to see if we had anything. Those crazy days are long gone.”

‘The Paradigm Shift’ is produced by Don Gilmore (Pearl Jam, Linkin Park).
