The 80s indie heroes reconvene to record a new album - with Tanya Donelly on board for the first time since 1991...

THROWING MUSES have reformed to record a new studio album, NME.COM has learned.

The group, featuring Kristin Hersh and Tanya Donelly on vocals, drummer David Narcizo and bassist Bernard Georges have recorded 12 new songs in total.

Sources close to the band have told NME.COM that the album is currently in the mixing stages. However, a release date is unconfirmed and any new material is not expected before 2003.

Throwing Muses haven’t released an album since 1996’s ‘Limbo’, although their albums ‘The Real Ramona’ and ‘Hunkpapa’ became classics on the 4AD label.

Some live shows are expected to coincide with the release, although a full tour is currently not an option.
