Kurt Vile unveils ‘Pretty Pimpin’ video, details new album

New LP due for release September 25

Kurt Vile has released new track ‘Pretty Pimpin’ along with an accompanying video. Click above to watch the Daniel Henry-directed piece.

The song will appear on Vile’s forthcoming album ‘b’lieve i’m goin down…’. Though he had previously announced the project, the singer-songwriter has today (July 21) revealed that the LP will be released on September 25 via Matador. Scroll down to view the tracklisting.

Speaking last month, the Philadelphia-based musician said that the ‘b’lieve i’m goin down…’ will include some “ethereal, Appalachian-influenced folk songs” and described the new material as more “unguarded and vulnerable” and having a “night vibe”.

He continued: “The music drones on and on, but in a freer way. There’s a sort of melancholy in the way the music just sprawls. It wanders. Everybody goes up and down throughout their lives. ‘Smoke Ring…’ was a downer, then ‘Wakin…’ was an upturn. My music has to be funny and sad and happy and loving, it’s gotta have it all. When somebody’s just too dark all the time, it’s just drama. Or if somebody’s too funny? Well, I like being too funny sometimes.”

The ‘b’lieve i’m goin down…’ tracklisting is:

‘Pretty Pimpin’
‘I’m an Outlaw
‘Dust Bunnies’
‘That’s Life, tho (almost hate to say)’
‘Wheelhouse’
‘Life Like This’
‘All in a Daze Work’
‘Lost My Head there
