Singer Elly Jackson hinted earlier this week (May 7) that she would be making an announcement soon after posting a new promotional image on Twitter accompanied by the cryptic message ‘new things’.
This has now been followed up with a brief taste of new music with a video posted on the official La Roux Instagram page yesterday (May 8). The reveals a snippet of a track from the long-awaited album, along with the caption “And so we begin…”
La Roux released their self-titled debut album in 2009 and have been working on its follow up for the past several years. Jackson previously spoke to NME about the delay in releasing the album, saying: “I realised the album I wanted to make would require me being a much better musician than I was. There’s been a lot of learning and it’s been fun and I didn’t want it to stop, basically.”
