La Roux announce North American tour dates

Singer breaks hiatus for a string of stateside shows

La Roux have announced a series of US and Canadian tour dates.

The band have played very few shows in the last few years, and little has been heard from her since she debuted three new tracks at a gig in Brighton last March (2013). It was their first show in over two years.

The synthpop duo – which consists of singer Elly Jackson and producer Ben Langmaid – will play a string of dates in Canada and the US in June, including New York’s Governors Ball festival. She will also plays dates in July supporting New Order.

La Roux released their self-titled debut album in 2009 and, after a lengthy wait, were set to deliver the follow-up last year. Speaking about the delay to NME at the time, Jackson said: “I realised the album I wanted to make would require me being a much better musician than I was. There’s been a lot of learning and it’s been fun and I didn’t want it to stop, basically.”

La Roux will play:

Toronto Danforth Music Hall (June 1)
Montreal Metropolis (2)
Boston Paradise Rock Club (3)
New York Governors Ball Music Festival (6)
Philadelphia Trocadero Theatre (7)
Washington DC, 9:30 Club (8)
San Francisco Bill Graham Civic Auditorium (with New Order) (July 11)
San Diego House of Blues (with New Order) (12)
Los Angeles Greek Theatre (with New Order) (13)
