Singer has been forced to take a break due to joint pain
Lady Gaga has been forced to postpone dates on her current US and Canada tour due to injury.
The singer has been cancelled shows on her Born This Way world tour in Chicago tonight and tomorrow (February 13 and 14), in Detroit on Saturday (February 16) and in Hamilton, Ontario on Sunday (February 17). All other future performances are expected to go ahead as scheduled, Billboard reports.
“I am completely devastated and heartsick,” a statement from the singer reads. “I’ve been hiding this injury and pain from my staff for a month, praying it would heal, but after last night’s performance I could not work. To the fans in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton, I hope you can forgive me as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself right now. I would do anything for you. I will hopefully heal soon as possible and be at 500% again, which is what you deserve.”
Taking to Twitter, Gaga added: “It will hopefully heal as soon as possible, I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and I’m sorry.”
According to a producer working on it, Lady Gaga’s is said to want the “craziest songs” for her forthcoming new album ‘ARTPOP’. Producer Zedd, whose real name is Anton Zaslavski, said that there was “no set genre” or “song length” for sessions. “She wants me to do the craziest songs I can possibly do. I’m not thinking about fitting a shoe on the right foot. We’re doing something completely unique and what we think is new. She’s not been saying, ‘You need to please my fans so make the songs sound like this’, we’ve just made music,” he said.
Lady Gaga is expected to release ‘ARTPOP’ later this year.
