Gaga tackles sexual assault in the new song written for people who suffer from 'painful life experiences'
Lady Gaga has shared a harrowing new video for her new song ‘Til It Happens To You.’
The singer revealed the video on twitter. She accompanied the post with a message explaining she made the song “for people all over the world who suffer from painful life experiences.”
‘Til It Happens To You’ was written by Gaga with Diane Warren for the documentary film The Hunting Ground which deals with sexual assault and violence to young women on college campuses in the United States.
The black and white video opens with a graphic content warning for viewers before depicting scenes of abuse towards women at college and their attempts to recover.

As reported by Billboard, the video was written and shot by Catherine Hardwicke who directed 2003’s Thirteen and 2008’s Twilight. At the end of the video a message reads: ‘1 in 5 college women will be sexually assaulted this year unless something changes.’
A portion of proceeds from the sale of the song will benefit organisations supporting sexual assault survivors.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga recently appeared in the new trailer for American Horror Story: Hotel.
In what is her first major TV acting role, Gaga stars in the horror anthology’s fifth season as Elizabeth, aka The Countess, the owner of the hotel at the heart of the dark drama.
The show’s co-creator Ryan Murphy recently said of Gaga’s character: “She owns the hotel and she is sort of a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art and fashion and people. She has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode that plays out over the course of the season.”
